Additional Thrillville: Off the Rails Information

Thrillville: Off the Rails Wii Design and build a theme park of your dreams with the most outlandish roller-coaster concepts ever. Thrillville: Off the Rails for the Wii amps up the family-friendly mix of gameplay that made Thrillville the best-selling original children's intellectual property of 2006 with some of the most outlandish roller-coaster concepts ever imagined, as well as new ways to talk to park guests and a new array of carnival games. A new lighthearted story ties together more than 100 missions, complete with 34 playable multiplayer theme-park games and social interaction with park guests that's better than ever. The in-depth conversations both advance the plot and suggest better ways to manage the park. But is every guest to be trusted?... Experience the visceral fun of interacting with a theme park you create. Build and ride your own creations, talk and joke with all your guests, and play dozens of minigames. Use the Wii Remote and Nintendo DS stylus in innovative ways to develop roller coasters and play minigames with the flick of your wrist. Create 20 death-defying WHOA Coasters such as these: - Hotrod Stunt: A nitro boost propels a car across a broken track. - Pendulizer: A giant arm grabs the car just before a gap in the track, whips it around in a full circle, then sets it down on the other side.- Escape Drop: The track holds the car stationary as it lifts itself from level ground to a full 90-degree drop. Then it lets go. Visit 15 themed areas, like Battleville, Winterville, Spaceville and Aeroville, all spread throughout five new parks. Distinguish your rides even more with enhanced customization options. Attach animatronics, flowers and flaming hoops to all of your coasters and rides. Smarter guests, better dialogue, and more focused two-way conversation make Thrillville's socialization aspects even more amusing than before. Conversation more directly impacts the story than in the original Thrillville.

We had to start a new game - picking my son's character and listening to the 5 min opening, 5 times. Also, instead of loading our saved game after the last time it froze up, I went directly into the minigames and was able to play that for about 70 WHOLE MINUTES with no crashes. The thing crashes like 5-15 min into the game - everytime. Nintendo does not even acknowledge that game crashes on Thrillville is an issue despite it being mentioned on the forums of numerous websites. I would NOT buy it on-line, through Ebay or from a store that does not allow returns. Finally did get it saved, after my son went to bed, tried a couple of the storyline missions and was about to save it again and it crashed AS I WAS SAVING IT. I thought it was fun to go around and tweak the rides, talk to people, and generally see after the amusement park.

The minigames are somewhat simplistic, by vary enough in type and style to be enjoyable. If you don't save as soon as the guy is finally done talking when you are actually in the amusement park, you'll be sorry. Have we turned the page - who knows - because of course no one wants to tell us how to fix the problem (although I've asked Lucas Arts). There are no directions anywhere on-line that I can find to fix this. This is obviously very frustrating.HOWEVER, The game seems really fun when you can actually get it to work. A number of them require you to advance in your management role in order to unlock a game - pretty typical stuff. So be aware - you are rolling the dice whether you will have Thrillville or FREEZEVILLE when you bring this home. As it is, Office Depot will only allow me to return it for the same title - so we'll either see if I can fix the problem or we'll see how many copies of the game hae the same issue.

My Kids 7 & 11 love the game. It keeps them busy for hours, and they are so excited to show me what they have done with their park.

We are both in our twenties and thought this game would mimic rollercoaster tycoon for casual play. My roomate and I love this game and find it very addicting. one of our wii favorites for half the price of many other games. then we discovered the challenges and minigames which keep you locked in the game for hours, opening new parks, completing missions, and even playing the minigames on multiplayer mode. A great buy for both people who want casual play at your own pace fun and challenging timed and scored fun.
